If your kids are like mine, they turn their noses up at vegetables. Every chance I get, I sneak veggies to them without their knowledge. My favorite, most liked way to do that is with a smoothie. This strawberry orange smoothie recipe (much like all smoothie recipes on this site) came to me during hot dog dinner night. Butternut Squash Cheese Sauce

This vegan paleo butternut squash cheese sauce is nightshade free and made with a few simple ingredients so it comes together quickly and can be used throughout the week.

Cheese has stolen the hearts of many. Most people can’t fathom a life without cheese. This butternut squash cheese sauce was created for two reasons. 1. For a dairy free cheeseburger macaroni (recipe coming soon!) and 2. As a cheesy sauce to slather on things. Turns out, I also really like to add it to some rice pasta with some roasted broccoli (upgraded mac and cheese) or mix with some shredded chicken and add to a vegan cauliflower tortilla for a quick snack….

There’s put together moms and there’s me-unshowered, tired mom. Generally my day job has me frazzled and by dinner time, and a lot of times I don’t have a dinner plan. But I always have a back up meal as well as a stockpile of frozen fruit in the freezer for smoothies.

Creamy Strawberry Ginger Green Smoothie

I’ve been on a ginger kick lately. I’m recovering from a gluten/sugar bender that has sent my body into full autoimmune flare mode. I have been doing all the things to try to recover as fast as possible, including drinking ginger tea-despite the 110 degree temperature outside.

Not being one to waste some perfectly good ginger pieces used in tea, I have been adding them to smoothies. I think I have discovered a new family favorite around here.

Paleo Blender Blueberry Muffins

When I was in high school, my favorite breakfast was blueberry muffins. My parents used to buy a giant tray of muffins from Costco every couple of months. The tray had blueberry, banana nut and chocolate chip muffins. Blueberry was always my breakfast of choice. This tray of muffins was delicious because it was as close to fresh-baked muffins as we got in our house.
